independent background graphics in a multi monitor computing cenario

  • each monitor attached to a windows machine should be able to have its own background desktop

     

    also support for double wide graphic panaramas would be fun

  • I believe you can do both of these if you are extending your desktop across the monitors.

    Right click on your desktop and go to Personalize > Desktop Background (at the bottom). If you want to have separate backgrounds on your monitors, just browse to the folder location that contains the wallpapers and select two or more wallpapers.

    For wallpapers that extends both monitors, once again, right click on your desktop and go to Personalize. Under Aero Themes, select Windows Extended and that should do the trick.
