Valid Crosscert for WHQL RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a valid 3-yr crosscert issued in January 2015. Some days ago, I tried to get my drivers WHQL certified but failed simply because the new hw dashboard request the EV cert. I'm very frustrated with your policy to urge many 3rd party vendors having still valid certificate to purchase another pricey certificate.

I think if a vendor have a still valid cert, you should allow them to use it until the cert has expired. Is there any workaround for my case?

    Thank you in advance.

  • This has been well discussed as coming by Microsoft.  You might check with the vendor and see if they offer an upgrade discount (some did when the announcements occurred over a year ago).

  • wow... total mess... EV cert, SHA1, SHA2, attestation,,,,,

I think the problem would be from that I changed my cert from SHA1 to SHA2 in 2016 to pass the Smart Screen Filter.

    Anyway, very disappointed...

Now I must run hck test for Win7 again since the already tested binary files were signed with SHA2 only.
