Does Open Government Data Initiative work with Visual Studio? RRS feed

  • Question

  • At  Open Government Data Initiative page I found that Visual Studio can just use Add Service Reference to generate proxy.

I'we tried both Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010. Both fails with:

The document at the url http://ogdi.cloudapp.net/v1/dc/CrimeIncidents/ was not recognized as a known document type.
The error message from each known type may help you fix the problem:
    - Report from 'DISCO Document' is 'Discovery document at the URL
    http://ogdi.cloudapp.net/v1/dc/CrimeIncidents/ could not be found.'.
      - The document format is not recognized (the content type is 'application/atom+xml;charset=utf-8').
    - Report from 'WSDL Document' is 'There is an error in XML document (1, 2).'.
      - <feed xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom'> was not expected.
    - Report from 'XML Schema' is 'The root element of a W3C XML Schema should be <schema> and its namespace should be 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema'.'.
Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://ogdi.cloudapp.net/v1/dc/CrimeIncidents/'.
The HTTP request was forbidden with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'.
The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again.

Also I tried http://ogdi.cloudapp.net/v1/dc/CrimeIncidents/?$metadata, this also does not work.
