---When the files sent to the Record Center do they automatically become "read only"? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

What is the major benefit of Record Center (other then automated routing from any site?) Do the items become automatically "read only"?

We are trying to make a decision about Record Center (should we create it at all or create a site collection and declare the records "in place")

    Thank you.

  • There is also the important one... Retention Policies.  Record Centers can apply retention policies to content and automatically cleanup content based on these policies.

I trust that answers your question...

    Thanks

  • The retention policy can also be envoked in a regular library in a regular site or site collection... I don't believe it is something special to Record Center.

  • As per this post, record in Record Center is read-only, can’t we amend record when record is in Record Center?  If answer is yes then what if user has sent the incorrect document and later user wants to correct the same?
