Word Count crashes and Page Number in word document not updated after custom functionality is performed RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are facing some issue with word count and page number in bottom corner of word document.

We are performing some custom functionality through custom word ribbon on word document. Once the operation is completed, Word count becomes disabled and page number is not updated even scrolling to different page in the document. Page number on bottom corner contains old page number where exactly the cursor was placed while performing custom functionality. Word document's word count and page number becomes normal only after closing all the instances of word document including current document and reopened a new one.  Is there any solution available for this issue?. What would be the cause or reason for this issue?. Is there any way of handling this issue programmatically in c#?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Your description suggests your code is not actually running to completion, possibly leaving Word in a state with screen updating disabled.
