can not connect Sharepoint data source to https site RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

I have a sharepoint 2010 hosted with https ( ej: https://partner.coca-cola.com/sites/LARFC), without certificate.

I make a VS2013 LS app , I enabled SH in Solution OK. but when try to add new DS tell me:

https://partner.coca-cola.com/sites/LARFC/_vti_bin/listdata.svc does not appear to be a valid site. SharePoint 2010 (or later) with an installation of WCF Data Services is required.

If I run in IE https://partner.coca-cola.com/sites/LARFC/_vti_bin/listdata.svc, the WCF is running and respond XML with SH object.

The user/pwd that I'm using is Admin collection.

Do you have any idea how to connect to this site?

    Thank in advance

    Ramiro

  • Did you try it without enabling sharepoint in LS?  If your site is SP2010 and not O365, then you don't need 'sharepoint enabled' you just need a plain old SharePoint datasource.  If that doesn't work then it may be something with your authentication setup in sharepoint.

  • Hi

Yes is Sp2010,but when I work using CSOM I use a remote server connection ( using cookies) but I don't know how to replicate this connection mode in LS.

    Do you have any idea?

  • Hi Ramiro B,

Are you looking for the details about connecting to Sharepoint list? If so, you may refer to it below:

    • In Solution Explorer, click the Data Sources node.
    • On the Project menu, click Add Data Source….

The Attach Data Source Wizard appears.

    • In the Choose a Data Source Type page, click SharePoint, and then click Next.

    • In the SharePoint Site Address box, type the URL of the SharePoint site that contains the list that you want to connect to. For example, if the URL of your list is http://sharepoint/sites/mysite/Lists/Customers/AllItems.aspx, type http://sharepoint/sites/mysite/ into the SharePoint Site Address box.

        Note

You can reference lists in a SharePoint 2010 site only.

    • Click either Windows Credentials or Other Credentials.

If you select Other Credentials, provide a valid user name and password in the appropriate boxes, and then click Next.

    • In the Choose your Database Objects page, select the lists that you want to use in your LightSwitch application, and then click Finish.

The lists that you selected now appear underneath Data Sources in Solution Explorer.

The lists that you selected appear in Solution Explorer as sub nodes of the Data Sources node.

You can get detailed information from: How to: Connect to Data
