    Question

  • is it possible to create a cluster in azure databricks with a free subscription? a minimum of 8 cores is needed for the simplest cluster but a free sub has only 4.

  • Hi!

I see references to trying Databricks for free in these places:

    https://docs.azuredatabricks.net/getting-started/try-databricks.html

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/services/databricks/

Are you able to get to the create cluster page?

Would you be able to go with the serverless option?

  • Yes i am able to get to the cluster page and can choose the serverless option. However, the creation of clusters always fail due to the lack of cores. The core quota for a free subscription is 4 but it seems that 4 is insufficient to create a cluster in databricks. Is there anyway to circumvent this issue?
