No sound on Dell Inspiron 640m RRS feed

  • Hi ,

     

    I installed Windows developer preview 32 bit  on my dell inspiron 640m.  I am not able to hear any sound. Error i am getting is audio service failed. Any body faced similar issue?

    thanks I solved my problem.  I had dell drivers installed. but Windows audio service was stopped.  I opened the registry key.  Change the permission and dependency and rebooted the machine.

    Have you check to see if your audio drivers been installed?  Here are the steps to open Device Manager.

    1. Press both Windows key + Pause/Break keys at the same time.
    2. In System Properties, click on Device Manager on left side.
    3. Check to see if your Audio device in Other Devices or in Sound, video and game controllers with a yellow exclamation point on any of those devices.

    If they do have yellow exclamation point, run windows update or download Windows 7 drivers for your audio device from Dell website.
