muenchian grouping between two different fields RRS feed

  • Question

  • My text file is as follows:

    H1   123456789 08142014  08142014  USDAA Interest Payment

    D                                                                                                                123456789 Laptop Goa

    Now I want to apply muenchian grouping between two different fields 2nd and 8th field.Here both values are 123456789.
    Is it possible with muenchian grouping or I have to use another technique ?

  • Prakash,

    In this case, sometime it’s better to do the grouping using your own xslt code  <xsl:for-each and <xsl:if rather than using Muenchain. Sometimes using Muenchain when you have more logic for group can make the process and code complex.

  • Yes, if you need to.

    Maybe all you need is a parameterized XLST Template.

  • I am confused that whether we can apply muenchian grouping for two different fields value or not.

    I have implemented muenchian grouping for one field value  in custom xslt and it is working fine.

    But in the case for applying two different field value ,I am in doubt.

    Can anyone provide me some link whether muenchian grouping is applying on two different fields value .

  • Not sure about your exact issue but you can refer this post by Sandro who is trying to find out sum all records and create a unique record for records having same "account type" and "city"

    <xsl:key name="groups" match="Record" use="concat(City, '|', AccountType)"/>
