    Question

  • Hey All,

My organization is planning to update our apps to support localization in other languages. We're currently on US English and planning to support Japanese in the near future. My question is, once we localize to Japanese, does that mean that all future versions of the app has to include both English and Japanese localization? Is it possible to keep a lower release (1.0 supports both English and Japanese) and release the next release with just one language (1.1 with just English)?

    Thanks!

  • It's possible to update your app to remove language support, but you might break requirement 3.4, and it could frustrate your Japanese users. Having multiple versions of your app published at once for the same version of Windows with different language support is not supported. If your v1.1 targeted Windows 8.1 and your v1.0 targeted Windows 8.1, then the v1.1 would replace the v1.0.
