Jet driver issue with Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I realise this question is asked alot in various different ways and means but I still cant find an  answer to it.

I have developed an SSIS package with an Excel destination on a 32 bit version of Windows 7. This debugs fine on this machine.

When I go to deploy it on a Windows Server 2008 machine it fails. This I realise has to do with the Jet driver not being available for Windows Server 2008. I can deploy other packages which do not use Excel as a destination no problem. I do not have Microsoft Office on the Windows 2008 server I do have Office on my development machine.

I do not know how to use the Ace provider with SSIS? Is this a possible solution? If so how do I connect to the Ace provider in SSIS?

Can anyone give a clear description of how I would deploy i on a Windows 2008 Server?

  • You have to use Ace drivers that is the only solution and instead of an excel destination you have to use an OLEDB Connection.
