To Query Active Directory to fetch the Domain controllers without LDAP. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Any one has idea on this?

Windows scheduled application written in c# runs every one hour on daily basis.
The applications fetches the user details from Active Directory for all the global domains for Synchronization purpose.
Currently we have used LDAP to query Active Directory.

    Problems faced:
When the scheduled process runs, the application tires to reach the nearest Domain controller and fetch the Active Directory details.
If the nearest domain controller is not available the application is getting interrupted and failed.

We have checked with the respective server team they said when the microsoft patches are running on the particular DC, Active directory will get rebooted.
Thats the reason for this. There is no in-built Load balancer in AD from infra side.

In this case our application has to route to next available DC. This has to be handled by the application.

Is there any alternatives to query AD without LDAP and by using a load balanced address??

Any one has idea on this.

    Thanks in advance.
