[WIndows 8.1]C# Windows Store App (windows 8.1), How to hide the 'Did you mean to switch between Apps?' dialog?

    Question

  • Hi,

    In our widows store app developed in C#, we are displaying HTML content in WebView in a separate page.

    In button element in HTML content, we have some custom user defined URI scheme as below:
    <a href="customAction://actionButton/InvokePage?id=13212>

    the href url is notified to app via "window.external.notify". When the app is notified with the above url, app will do some server action.

    When we click that button, a 'Did you mean to switch between Apps?' dialog is displayed by Windows.With this, we cannot go to production.

    So we need to avoid displaying this alert.

    How can we do this?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

    No, this is impossible. This behavior is by design. Users should be aware of what the app is doing for security reason.

    Best regards,

    Roy
