Setup Wizard ended prematurely

    Question

  • Can someone offer me assistance with this?  I keep on receiving the following message when trying to install the 32-bit edition.

    File name: KinectSDK-v1.0-beta2-x86.msi

Has anyone else had an issue with this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Do you have the Previous version of SDK installed ? If yes, please uninstall the same first then try to install the new SDK.

    Thanks !

  • can you create a log file to find the error?
    msiexec /i <path_to_msi> /L*V <path_to_log>

I have no idea how to do that.

No, I have not previously installed this.

  • The most probable reason for this is that you might be trying to install a Kinect SDK meant for a 32-bit machine on a 64-bit environment, or may be the other way round.

Choose the correct SDK for your environment and it will install successfully.

That's the best way to figure out what the error is. Copy KinectSDK-v1.0-beta2-x86.msi to your local machine (example C:\temp). Open a cmd window. cd C:\temp. Run msiexec /i KinectSDK-v1.0-beta2-x86.msi /L*V log.txt
