Does BizTalk 2016 support SQL 2014? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey,

As all knows BizTalk 2016 will support SQL 2016. But will BizTalk 2016 support SQL 2014? Is it possible to use Always On in SQL 2014 for the biztalk databases?

    Regards,
    Roger

  • Thanks!

Since Windows server 2016 is not yet released, is following setup OK?

    1. Windows Server 2012R2

    2. SQL server 2014 SP1

    3. BizTalk server 2016 (not yet released but we will use CTP2 during the dev/test environment until BTS 2016 is released)

Above setup will not support Always On.

    OK?

    To have AlwaysOn feature:

    1. Windows Server 2012R2

    2. SQL server 2016

    3. BizTalk server 2016 (not yet released but we will use CTP2 during the dev/test environment until BTS 2016 is released

    OK?

    1.  Yes this will not have Always On feature available. You can use the Biztalk 2016 CTP 2 with this configuration provided you install the hotfix : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3090973#!%2Fen-us necessary foer SQL sevrer 2014

    2) I suggest you go through the system requirement for the installation ofSQL 2016 here .

  • No worries :)

First question: Yes, that configuration will work, and be supported. Install KB309097 for Windows Server 2012 R2.

Second question: Yes, that configuration will work, and be supported. Note that for AlwaysOn you need Enterprise Edition of both BizTalk and SQL Server.
