System coordinates for an Image of a countrie RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Good morning,

I need to get images of various countries in PNG in diferent scales, knowing the coordinates of the top left corner of the image, to be used on a BackOffice where, with the geographical decimal coordinates I will place a point to locate (in this case) a beach where I have surfed. Is there anyway in Bing maps where I can get those images and coordinates? How can I get those coordinates in Bing Maps?

Or is any other way of doing so?

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Does the REST imagery service provide what you're looking for? For example, here's a PNG image of a beach where I've surfed in California (Lat 52.675, Long 1.72):

Generated using the following URL (insert your own Bing Maps key, which you can get from bingmapsportal.com)

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Imagery/Map/AerialWithLabels/52.675,1.72/13?pushpin=52.675,1.72;26&mapSize=400,400&format=png&key=INSERTYOURBINGMAPSKEYHERE

You can get an explanation of all the parameters used in the URL from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701724.aspx
