IIS on Node App Pools are stopping HTTP Error 503 RRS feed

    Windows 2012 R2

    IIS 6.2 build 9200

    Web Farm 2 Nodes

Both Nodes are VM's on VMware 6.5 ESXI hosts

The are balanced using Kemp Load Balancer.

I use DFSR to replicate the IIS  Web Content and the IIS Config

On Node 1 3 Application Pools stop

    DefaultAppPool

    Music

    VeeamBackup

I get  Http error 503 service not available   when trying to access the site on NODE 1  NODE 2 is still working great.

The Music site is internet facing the VeeamBackup is internal only.

the three App Pools stop randomly or when trying to be accessed.

Since Node 2 is Good is there a way I can copied over from Node 2 to node 1

Or is there any thing I can do to get NODE 1 back online

This all happened after a NAS device crashed and I lost my SQL Servers had to rebuild them .

    All databases are back online.

    Any ideas would be helpful

    Thank you

    Tom

    Hi trgrassijr69,

You should be able to find error message in application and system event log. Could you reproduce this issue post these error messages?

I haven't used VMware but I am more familiar with Hyper-V. If VMware support VHDX, you could backup the whole server node 2 then install it on node 1 with  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/disk2vhd

    Hi trgrassijr69,

iiswsock.dll belong to IIS/world wide web service/WebSocket Protocol. Please go to C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv to compare the dll in server A and Server B. I think this file could probably has been corrupted. Try to copy this file from node 2 or reinstall it from server manager.

Use process monitor would help you pinpoint the problem
