ForEach Loop Container missing Foreach File Enumerator RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am currently working with BIDS 2008.  Would like to loop through a series of files in a directory, however when I go to use the ForEach Loop I seem to be missing the Foreach File Enumerator.  Am I missing something?

  • What do you mean by missing?

Sometimes the properties are gone, try selecting another enumerator and go back file enum.

  • I am sorry if I was not clear before, but when I go to select the ForEach file enumerator from the drop down list of the of the ForEach Loop I am not given the choice of this.....just have 5 choices...................

    Foreach SMO
    Foreach Nodelist
    Foreach from Variable

  • If you look under C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\ForEachEnumerators, is the ForEachFileEnumerator.dll present? Is the Microsoft.SqlServer.ForEachFileEnumeratorWrap assembly present in your GAC?

This sounds like the enumerator didn't get registered properly.

  • John,

They are both located in their respective locations.  Should I try to re-register dll?

  • Yes - it's also possible you will need to repair your installation.
