sql 2000 cannot connect to win 7 access database

  •  Hi Everyone,

I have sql 2000 running as database server and access 2007 as frontend forms but when I installed new machine which runs windows 7 it cannot connect to sql 2000. We use multiprotocol to connect to our sql database using ODBC connection however multiprotocl is not supported by win 7 I installed sql 2005 in same machine using side by side installation still no connection to database. I dont want to remove sql 2000 coz there are losts of XP machines connected to it using access 2007. My question is is there any way I can connect my win 7 machine to sql 2005 and xp machines to sql 2000 as it is or do i need to upgrade sql 2000 to 2005. Also there are 32 bits and 64 bits ODBC administrator in win 7 and I know my sql is 32 bit and am using 32 bit ODBC tool but no to avial. May be am being silly but I need solution to my problems I opened shared memory, TCP/IP , named pipes, VIA everything on SQL server configuration manager but cant connect. Is my win 7 trying to connect to same sql 2000 or is it both cannot work at same time . Note: I used side by side installation to install sql 2005
