Suggestion: Remove the left/right-margin padding in loband mode RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I love loband mode, but the left/right-margin padding may cause usability issues with some mobile browsers.  For example, on my nokia n810 I can easily read the entire text of the page, but only if I "zoom in" -- but then I have to scroll to the right slightly, and I have to do the scrolling on every page.  If lo-band mode just displayed the body at 100% (or 98%) I wouldn't need to zoom OR scroll.

On any small screen, utilizing 10-20% of available real estate for zero-value-added border is probably not ideal for the user.  I can certainly see my and other developers' mobile devices becoming their "MSDN to-go" with the introduction of loband mode, so I think it should cater to those devices a little more.  My suggestion would be to make the body display at 100% and eliminate the black background.  It ends up looking a little awkward when the menu listing on the left gets really long, anyway.

    Thanks,
    pj
