How can I debug Windows 8 Store App in Windows 8.1 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I developed Windows Store App in Windows 8.

However, when I installed it into Windows 8.1 device, I saw some bugs.

(The setup is made in Windows 8.)

I don't want to convert the source code for Windows 8.1.

I just would like to debug it in Windows 8.1.

Can I debug this application in Windows 8.1 as Windows 8 environment

or is there any way to debug Windows 8 store app in Windows 8.1?

  • You can debug Windows 8 apps with Visual Studio 2012 or With Visual Studio 2013 Preview versions other than Express. Visual Studio 2013 Express Preview only does Windows 8.1 apps and so requires converting.

  • It should debug fine in Windows 8.1 using Visual Studio 2013 or 2012.  Are you running into a specific issue?

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.
