Like to create small program to add an action to the default handler for Window's Shortcut (lnk) files.

    Question

  • Hello;

    I am hoping to write a small program, batch file or script that could replace the default handler for shortcut (lnk) files in Windows. It only needs to do two things: a) If the shortcut file is in a specific directory, change the date-modified or date-created attributes of the shortcut file. (This way the list of shortcuts could be sorted by the date the shortcut was accessed.) And b), call the standard default shortcut handler. It should do this last part in such a way that neither the user or the default handler was aware of my program.

    If anyone can help with this or knows where I can find the information I need to do this, I sure would appreciate it.

    Sincerely;
    Michelle
