My deployment project runs till a couple of weeks without any problem  but sudently it generates a strange compile error:

"Error 7 Cannot create an object of type 'System.Int32' from its string representation 'ActualityHeadLine1' for the 'ID' property. /FootPortal/Default.aspx 33 1 FootPortal_deploy_on_dev

The ActualityHeadLine1 is the ID property of a user control in one of the pages.  The web project compiles and runs without any problem but the deployment project don't work anymore.  I tried to delete it and recreate it but it stills give the same compile error...

i had the same problem and to solve it i deleted all the temporary files/folders in

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files

if you get an access violation when deleting just run iisreset /restart from the command prompt to restart iis and then delete all the folders in the above directory.

Ive just had the same error,

caused by a webcontrol that had a public property called ID and that took an int parameter.

make sure any public properties you have are uniquely identified and dont used reserved words like ID

I renamed mine to ENTITY_ID and all compiled and worked OK

None of my properties are called ID, but I'm still getting the error.
