Unable to open SharePoint site in Designer on client machine RRS feed

    I have a 2010 Enterprise publishing site set up. I am experiencing the following:

    - I am able to open my site in SharePoint Designer on the server.
    - I am able to open my site in the browser on the client machine
    - I am unable to open my site in SharePoint Designer on the client machine (Choosing "Edit in SharePoint Designer" from the Site Actions menu).

    The message Designer gives me on the client machine is this:

    Microsoft SharePoint Designer does not support editing non-SharePoint sites.

    Again... it opens just fine on the server, so there's no doubt that it's a SharePoint site.

    I double checked everything in this KB article, with no success:

    Hi ,

     

    Have you extended the web application to anther zone ? Have you tried to  close SharePoint Designer ad reopen it again ?

     

    I would suggest you perform these to have a test: Perform an IIS reset .Then open SharePoint designer and type the URL in the open site window to manually open the site.
