ADOOO1 Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2015 strange warning

    Question

  • Just today some strange error started popping up after re-naming my project.

Warning AD0001 Analyzer 'Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.VisualBasic.CodeFixes.SimplifyTypeNames.VisualBasicSimplifyTypeNamesDiagnosticAnalyzer' threw an exception of type 'System.ArgumentNullException' with message 'Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: source'. MyApp 1 Active

Should I just suppress this? Is there a fix for this? I even started a whole new project and it is still doing it. This must be some sort of bug.

    Version 14.0.24720.00 update 1

  • In short, an analyzer is not going to break projects but would highly recommend sending a bug report on this. Lastly, any issues like this should be done in the Visual Studio forum.

I am moving your question to a Visual Studio forum.

  • The warning vanishes after selecting build only. It returns if I select intellisense.
