Office365 addFileAttachmentAsync globally broken RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently experiencing issues with attachment addition in Office365. The addFileAttachmentAsync function seems to be globally broken on. Not even the official samples on github are working (https://github.com/OfficeDev/Outlook-Power-Hour-Code-Samples). The code has been tested days ago without any issues and since 05/02/2016 it has progressively stopped working (some endpoints perfomed correctly and others didn't).

    function attachFiles() {
        Office.context.mailbox.item.addFileAttachmentAsync('https://www.google.es/images/branding/googlelogo/2x/googlelogo_color_272x92dp.png', filename, { asyncContext: null }, testCallback);
    }

    function testCallback(result) {
        if (result.error) {
            console.log(result.error);
        } else {
            console.log("Attachment added");
        }
    }

    The code above will always result (after some time) in the following error:

    OSF.DDA.Error {name: "InternalFormatError", message: "Hubo un error de formato interno.", code: 9002}

  • Yes, we're still experiencing the same issues, both with organizational and personal accounts. It only affects the Web version, the desktop client is working well.

    We've also checked other Office365 addins on the store that use the same API and they've stopped working. We checked two of them but there are many more affected for sure.

    If there's any direct way to report a bug I would have gladly done so but I couldn't find any link.

    PD. The tested 3rd party addins are:

  • Hi,

    I am still not able to reproduce this issue via using Chrom web broswer. I am testing the Chrom with 48.0.2564.109 and the version of IE is 11.0.9600.18205.

    What's version of IE and Chrom broswer version are you using? And what's the default web broswer? To run the Office add-in sucessfully, the Internet Explorer 9 or later need to installed. More detail about the requirment please refer to link below:

    Requirements for running Office Add-ins
