sql cluster not in failover cluster administrator after windows cluster failure/reinstall. HELP! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here is the issue, we had a problem with the windows cluster. We had to remove and reinstall the Windows failover cluster.  this of course removed the sql cluster from here.

i still have sql server 2008 installed, and im running windows 2008 sp2.  how do i get the sql cluster "added" back to the windows cluster?

    help!

Answers

  • If this is a new cluster, the recommendation is to build everything from scratch. You don't want to end up dealing with a corrupted installation down the road. Even if you can add the SQL Server service in a new cluster resource group, you might end up in an unsupported scenario
