We are using SSRS 2008 r2 and when exporting reports to PDF format there is no option to select a page range.
Users sometimes want to pick a page range when exporting a report as they do not always want the full report in PDF format. Is is possible to prompt the user when exporting to PDF so that a dialogue box with the page range is shown?
If so how is this done?
In SSRS, when we click “Export”, the entire report will be exported to the specified format. In order to export report with specified pages we can provide the start and end page number in the device information setting.
However, it will affect all reports in the Report Server, if we configure the device information setting in rsreportserver.config. I recommend you using Render method in Reporting Services web service with Device Information Setting to render specified pages:
Alternative, I recommend you that submit a wish to the Microsoft Connect at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided.
As a workaround, create parameter to take user input of Page number range. Reload the Tablix with selected rows. Now, user can export only selected page.
