[E2007][EWSMA 1.1][C#] / [OUTLOOK 2007]: Outlook blanks out location on appointments updated through EWSMA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Exchange Version: Exchange 2007 SP2 Rollup 4.
    API Name: EWS Managed API
    API Version: 1.1

    1. Create a meeting in Outlook 2007 (Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)). Invite ONE attendee. Leave the location blank.

    2. Look up the ItemId of the meeting (eg using EWS Explorer or a console app).

    3. Using the managed API, set a location for the appointment:

    Appointment a = AppointmentBind(service, new ItemId("THEITEMID"));
    a.Location = "UPDATED VIA EWSMA";
    a.Update(ConflictResolutionMode.AutoResolve, SendInvitationsOrCancellationsMode.SendToAllAndSaveCopy)

    4. Open up the same meeting in Outlook. The updated location will show

    5. Add one more attendee - The location disappears.

    This is all that is needed to consistently reproduce this problem. Can you please try reproducing it?

    Regards,

    VP

  • I just tried doing the same steps using OWA:

    1. Create a meeting in Outlook 2007 (Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.6423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000)). Invite ONE attendee. Leave the location blank.

    2. Open up the meeting using OWA.

    3. Update the location using OWA.

    4. Open up the same meeting in Outlook. The updated location will show

    5. Add one more attendee - The location disappears.

    This can be consistently reproduced.
