SPN SQL Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    I have successfully created an SPN for my database server and kerberos authentication is working without issue. However, my database engine and my sql server agent are running under different domain accounts. Should I set an SPN as well for the account running the sql server agent in order to provide authentication for the jobs, or will the additional SPN cause a conflict?

    Thank you

  • If your server is already registered then you can try to run the query and see the authentication scheme and check the output

    SELECT auth_scheme FROM sys.dm_exec_connections WHERE session_id = @@spid ;

    If its not kerberos, register it manually
