Project Online Project Limit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know if the 2000 project limit for Project Online applies to all projects? Meaning the number 2000 includes archived, draft, and published projects?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Roland, Usually you will publish all projects for reporting and/or timesheet purpose, meaning that you will have the same amount of projects in the draft and published DB. The number of archived projects wil depend on the backup policy you put in place. Thus the limitation applies to the draft/published DB.

    Hope this helps,

  • Further to this, there are no archived Projects in Project Online, this functionality is only in Project Server (on premise). Paul

  • Thanks Guillaume and Paul!

This is exactly the info I needed.

@Paul - Can you point me to any documentation that mentions no support for archived projects in Project Online?

  • Hello, I don't think there is anything. Project Online and Project Server need to be treated as two separate products. There are other features that exist in Project Server that are not in Project Online. A good indication is what ever settings have moved from the PWA Settings page to Central Adim is not available / accessible in Project Online. Switch it the other way and you will find features available in Project Online that are not in Project Server. Paul

  • Yes, I haven't seen anything close to the Project Server 2013 Admin guide for Project Online. I was hoping there is something like that...

Thanks for the tips. I'll just compare what I see in the UI.
