tf command line tool not working properly RRS feed

  • I have one project Prj.In that i change a file by opening it in notepad and some line.Then i use tfs command line tool to checkin the pending changes.But it gives me message "there are no pending changes".But when i change the file in VS 2008 ,then command line successfully checkin that file .Why command line is not working when i change file outside VS 2008.

  • When you change a file in notepad, you only chagen the readonly attribute of the file, but you are not actually checking out the file. In VS 2008 this is an integrated feature, so typing in the editor the file will be automatically checked out.

    That is the difference.
