File already in use message for back-end file

    Question

  • Multiple users suddenly reporting the following message. Access 2010, split database, each user has their own front-end.

Is this another Windows 10 issue?

  • I'd be looking for some user who doesn't have full privileges on the back-end folder.  If that user happens to be the first one to open the database, then because Access can't create the lock file (.laccdb file), it will lock the entire file and not let anyone else in.
