How to host an ASP.NET website on a Virtual Private Server? RRS feed

    Hey guys

It's the first time that I own a VPS. I've worked on my website for a while and now is the time to let it go for online test.

I used to have a free host with a subdomain that was pretty limited. It was easy to work with that, I just needed to upload the .aspx and .cs files and Bob was my uncle.

Now I have a VPS and a domain. I'm not sure how to do the job. I think I must install a Control Panel like Plesk, cPanel, or zPanel.

    - What control panels suits ASP.NET websites best? Also I need MS SQL Server. Do all control panels support MS SQL Server?

    - How can I connect to the control panel? I installed zPanel, but I don't know how to connect it to the domain and how to connect to the control panel.

    Any guides would be appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

I'd recommend to use www.websitepanel.net which is a free open source windows control panel supported by microsoft. Just read their documentation on how to get started.

If you need further help pm me
