Office 365 App Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm new on Office 365/SharePoint 2013 Apps development, as first test project I have created an Outlook App (Mail app for Office), I didn't edit the simple code generated by NAPA, normally it will work, but when I deploy the app I get this error :

App Error Something went wrong and we couldn't start this app. Please try again later or contact your system administrator.

Une erreur relative à l’application s’est produite Désolé... Nous n’avons pas pu démarrer cette application, car une erreur s’est produite. Veuillez réessayer plus tard ou contacter l’administrateur système.

After some debugging, via the F12 Tools, I find that the https://appsforoffice.microsoft.com/lib/1.0/hosted/office.js is not available! Is there a solution for this problem ?

EDIT : The site is available over http but not over https, then I tried to use it but it still not working:

The page at 'https://grindi-81a84eec62----.sharepoint.com/FirstMailApp/App/Home/Home.htm…#path=/mail' was loaded over HTTPS, but ran insecure content from 'http://appsforoffice.microsoft.com/lib/1.0/hosted/office.js': this content should also be loaded over HTTPS.

  • I ever had the same problem. This issue should only happen when you debug the mail app in Napa, and at the same time signed in to MSDN forum.

The office.js cannot be accessed through HTTPS by the mail app started from Napa, when MSDN forum is signed at the same time.

    Here is one workaround:

    1. Open the mail app in Visual Studio from Napa
    2. Start and debug the mail app

To the second question: Since the mail app is loaded through HTTPS, loading the office.js through HTTP will show the insecure content error.

    Hope this information is helpful.

    Thanks,

    Tao

  • Hi Nizar Grindi,

Would you mind to open the home.html file in NAPA and check whether the protocol is https? If not, please try to change it to https and see whether your issue could be resolved.
