Scheduler to export the data from Analytics ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a application which captures custom events, Exceptions, etc., I can see those metrics in the Azure dashboard. Also i can query these details through Analytics -> Usage -> pie chart.,

I would like to export these options on day to day basis. Is there any option ( like exporting on daily )

I know that there is a continuous export option available by using the storage account, but i dont want to use that...

Is there anyway to get the report on daily basis without manual interaction ? ( also without using storage account )

    Thanks,

    Kamal

  • No continuous export is the only automated way to export Application Insights data. You could manually export daily reports in excel form by clicking on the export option inside the Metrics Explorer view (click .. More -> Export).

  • Hi Kamal,

    Two other options:

    1. Use PowerBI to create graphs over Application Insights data (using Continuous Export, Stream Analytics or over Analytics queries) - more details can be found here.

    2. Use the Application Insights REST API to retrieve your events and create a custom solution by your self - more details can be found here.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hi Asaf,

    Thanks for your suggestion.,

Now we are planning to use the Storage account for the continuous export., If that is the case

    1. Currently it is logging the events, errors, exceptions on seperate folder on each hours., Is it possible to log it for a day instead of each hour under each day., Basically consolidated report for each day for exception, events, errors etc.,

    2. Is there any automatic scheduler to export the data on daily basis using storage account?

    Thanks,
