White Space between Web Parts on the SharePoint 2007 Home Page RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have extra white space in around the top and bottom of the web parts on our home page in SharePoint 2007. We have gone through and ensured the all cell padding values are set to 0. We have also ensured that all references to the size of of objects is set to a percentage value rather than a PX value. We did this in the DefaultLayout and Master Pages. It would seem as though there are other pages we need to review and edit as well.

    How do we remove this extra white space between webparts?

    I did notice in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\AnnouncementsList\Announce\Schema.XML file, there are a few references to something akin to the following:

    <Case Value="rtl">

</HTML

  • Hi jmcpsd,

    To remove/hide empty space between web parts, you can try to add a “Content Editor Web Part” to the page, in the source editor, type the following code:

    Thanks,

    Qiao Wei

  • Hi,

    This works well when I paste it into a Content Editor Webpart but it only affects that webpart. It doenst remove the bulky spacing around other parts like the advanced search web part. Any way to fix this? thanks :)
