Debugging of pipeline no longer working on Data Factory RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    We have a Dev, QA and UAT instance of a data factory, that have been deployed and running for a few weeks. Deployments to QA and UAT are done via CI/CD from a Azure DevOps repo that is working on in the Dev ADF. This afternoon we stopped being able to Debug the pipelines on all 3 AFs. The error we get when we try and debug a pipeline is a BadRequest error such as:

    {
        "code": "BadRequest",
        "message": "Activity PL_Initiate_Restore_BackOffice failed: Invalid dataset reference. Name: DS_SQL_LD_BackofficeMortgage_morAppFma_FMALoanDetails",
        "target": "pipeline/PL_Initiate_Restore_BackOffice/runid/dc1e449e-1113-448c-a59d-d39bbfd8dc5d",
        "details": null,
        "error": null
    }

    The error message is always complaining about a dataset, but the dataset is present and is valid. We're pretty convinced that we haven't changed anything. Publishing and then Triggering the pipeline works fine.

    I've been able to reproduce the same issue in a new DF in both UK South and US East with dummy pipeline.

    Any suggestions?

    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

    Sorry you are experiencing this! One of our recent deployment cycles accidentally introduced this bug. We have since hotfixed it and you should no longer experience this issue. Please let us know if you are still encountering it.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Daniel,

    Confirmed it's now fixed - thank you. Is there some sort of feed for releases/known issues that we can access? We burnt quite a lot of time yesterday trying to decide if it something we did or a new bug that was introduced.

    Thanks

    Tim
