Camera angle to horizon and camera angle to the mount RRS feed

  • Question

  • the angle returned by the ElevationAngleGet seems to be the angle compared to the horizon, but how would an application know what angle the camera is compared to the motor? Since the motor has the -27 to 27 degree limitation, there would be no way to know that the device can not be moved anymore.

Wouldn't it be best if these two values were available separate from each other?

Also, I've noticed that the angle is constantly changing for me, with a range of +1,-1. My solution is to calculate an average of these instead of using the hard number.

But this is happening on a solid flash surface with no movement no sound nor wind or anything. Seems a bit odd.

Also, why is the angle a hard integer? Is the data not available for the exact degrees? With my app getting the range of -13,-14,-15 between frame refreshes, but no fraction of those? It doesn't seem likely that the hardware is limited to that low precision.

I'm doing my best to find all the things like this that I can before the SDK leaves beta... because after that... it's a long haul :)

    thanks!

  • You got it :)

Is there a schedule for the next release? Or a public/semi private list of implemented/potential changes/additions for this release or others?
