Windows 10 DDK problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, looking to develop a USB driver on Win10. Downloaded the Windows 10 developer kits and installed (default location, c:\program files (x84)\Windows 10

Fired up a tempate for USB driver (C++/Windows Driver(UMDF V2)) - all ok.

Solution won't build as include paths not set up - added c:\program files (x84)\Windows 10\Include to include paths and get the following error:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\build\WindowsDriver.common.targets(180,5): error : An SDK corresponding to WDK version '8.1' was not found. Please install the SDK before building.

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

    thx

  • Did you install the SDK that it's asking for?

  • Is that a separate download from the DDK? If so, then no...

I have Visual Studio 2015 Community and the DDK installed... Will download the SDK, wasn't clear from the device driver devloper page this was separate

    thx
