How to map an IIS virtual directory to a site? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear experts,

I have a WCF web servie host on the same server with my SharePoint web sites. The WCF web service use port 88 other than 80. But when I try to access it in Chrome, the OPTIONS method prevent me from accessing it.

So I hope to move the virtual directory of WCF web service beneath the SharePoint root site to share 80 port and avoid cross domain origin issue.

Is it possible? If it is, how to make it.

    Thank you very much.

  • Possible or not it's a bad idea. If it's hosted in the SharePoint site then SharePoint may do anything it likes to that without mentioning it to you. Port 88 is also less than ideal as that's a standard Kerberos port number. I'm not familiar with the Chrome 'OPTIONS' issue you mention but it may be possible that moving to the unassigned range would fix it.
