Azure Agent for DotNet framework 4 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There

ASR agent has to be installed on 2012 R2 but we are using the framework 4.0

What is the work around, as upgrading the firmware is not an option, since we have application dependencies of VMs as well the host.

    Regards,

    HK

  • Please check the below URL, the pre-requisite version of .Net is listed as 4.0

  • This url is taking me to VMM, i do not have VMM in place.

Please share a snapshot or a direct url saying that Host can be on 4.0 Framework.

  • Sorry, i misunderstood your question. I was thinking about the pre-requisites for installing the MARS agent.

  • Can you check the version of .Net in registry ?

HKML\software\microsoft\net framework setup\NDP\V4\Full\ and check the value of version ?

  • Try installing latest .net using offline installer and see, i suspect your .Net installation is corrupt

  • In that case, if you want to migrate the VM's to Azure you can opt to lift and shift. See my old thread here

As far as i know, we cannot bypass the requirements for ASR Agent

  • I need to set DR, not migration.

Would need Azure as a DR site with replication from primary site.

  • I dont think its possible to setup ASR for DR without meeting its pre-requisites.
