  • The Kinect only has support for Skeletal and depth data. You might be able to come up with something around analyzing the depth data for particular users, but there is nothing in the SDK that does this.

  • Thank you Carmine for your quick reply on my question. Now I understand the limitations.

I searched some thermal based breath approaches. Some human thermal images showing the Inhale, Exhale variations.

    My questions is:

Is it possible to take thermal images of nose using Kinect .(Versions like Kinect for windows, kinect for windows V2) ?

    Please suggest me...

  • The Kinect does not record thermal images. People often assume that all infrared images are thermal infared images, but they are not.

Kinect emits and records in the so called near infrared band. Near infrared is just outside of the visual range.

    Near infrared, 750-900 nm
    Thermal infrared, 10400-12500 nm
