problem with sorting data before importing into PP RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Good day!

    Having been told we should
sorting data before importing into PowerPivot I tried many times but without
    complete result

My fact table is 2 mln rows
(MS Access) and it has sorting table properties, after importing no sorting in
    PowerPivot.

Trying import not from table but from query in this DB with sorting in the query. It produces some sorting in PowerPivot but not complete set

Trying import from powerpivot query. It produces some sorting but not all rows

I’ve got Contoso DB from http://powerpivotsdr.codeplex.com/releases/view/46355 and
wrote a query to import DimDate table

    with this query

SELECT [DimDate].* FROM [DimDate] Order By Datekey we get in first row: 01/07/05 (dd/mm/yy)

    and only with this query

SELECT [DimDate].[Datekey] FROM [DimDate] Order By Datekey

we get in first row: 01/01/05  (dd/mm/yy). It's right first date in this table

Should it be so difficult? Is it really possible to import data with sorting into PowerPivot from Access DB?

    Thank you!

  • Hi, how is the data populated in the date table? Is it monthwise ?
