  • 0x8007000e error occurs unless Anonymous connections are given the DCOM Remote Access permission on Computer.

Since you stated you have made some changes to:

1.if changed the expresses settings in the setup of windows dp to my custome settings it will not work
2.if changed any registry entries using regedit.
    3.If i disables UAC.
4.If i install any software other than win 8 dp peinstalled ones
Like i have if a i moved an position that alters your win dp

Your problem leads me to believe that a refresh of your PC is the best next course of action.
The refresh may resolve the other issues, but it is most likely to resolve the accessing the metro applications error message.

Here is what will happen you when you refresh your PC:
Your files and personalization settings won't change.
Your PC settings will be restored to their defaults.
Apps from Windows Store will be kept. All other apps will be removed.

Follow the steps below to restore your PC:
    Enter the Start screen
    Click Control Panel
Click General on the left column
Under the Refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Get started.

Then follow the instructions that will be displayed on the screen.
Once the refresh has finished, test to see if you still get the error message.

    Hope this helps.

  • Anoop Rajasekharan,

I am sorry to hear about your issue.  In your post you mention that if you alter any setting in Windows Developer Preview like the setting or preferences that the error will come again, What settings did you change to get this error?

Can you describe the problem to me in more detail?  Like what exactly are you doing when you get the error?

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • I have the same issue, which seems to have been triggered by installing a desktop mode application we use in our lab. None of the Metro style apps are willing to run. They freeze momentarily upon starting, and then drop back to a green background screen with the afore mentioned error in the event log. This is occuring on tthe development tablet MSFT handed out during the BUILD conference.

How about an explanation of the issue Win8 is having, and a description of what third party applications may be doing to cause this issue, rather than suggesting to restore the defaults?

  • Check to see if your third party application may be disabling User Account Control.
If is has been disabled, Metro Apps will not work.
Go to Start page. Type in User Account Control and hit enter. Then click on Settings.
Click on Change User Account Control settings.
If you have the Slider Bar set to Never Notify, this disables User Account Control.

You can change back to default - Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer.

You might also try a system restore to a point before you installed the desktop mode application.
Go to Start page. Type in System Restore.
Click on Settings on the right side.
On the left side of the page, it has entries for the different options.
Click on Restore system files and settings from a Restore point.
    Click Next.
Click on the file for the Date and Time to before you had the issue with .exe files.
The next page confirms the restore point.
    Click on Finish button.
Your system will be restored to the time and date before you were experiencing the issue.

Let us know if this helps.

  • Marilyn,

Yes, going back to a previous restore point fixed my issue, and Metro is all well once again. I did not expect such a quick response, so thank you. And I might add that I like the Metro look and feel very much, plus kudos for restoring the ability to implement advanced UI in native code, once again. Good show.
