  • 1. There is a resource called RegistryBackup in VS 2013 - what the curly brackets mean please ?

    2. Can I use it to backup my registry ?

    3. if not then - what libraries / what classes should I use to backup the Curent User and HKLM registry keys ?

  • {} in Intellisense is a namespace. The icon next to Registry indicates a class or struct. The icon next to RegistryHive indicates an enumeration. The master list of icons is defined here.

    There is no RegistryBackup namespace that is provided by .NET that I'm aware of. This is likely coming from either the code itself or a third party library.

    There is no functionality built into .NET to backup a registry key. It can be done using Win32 via the RegSaveKeyEx function. You'll have to use P/Invoke for that.
