PowerPivot WCF DS DateTimeOffset Type Mismatch RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Microsoft Community,

I have a WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) DS (Data Services) project hooked up to a EF (Entity Framework) model which sits on top of an SQL Server (2008 R2 SP2) database, the database table uses some TimeOffset column types, these in turn get mapped to EF, everything works great until I try to consume the data feed in PowerPivot (in Excel 2010) where it complains about a Type Mismatch on the DateTimeOffset field.  I've tried PowerPivot with a standard DateTime field and it appears to work fine, so I'm assuming that PowerPivot is lacking support for the DateTimeOffset type?

Any help anyone can shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks
