Azure vm sharepoint 2013 dev environment setup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone!

I'm trying to setup a sharepoint 2013 dev environment on an azure virtual machine. I'm struggling with two major problems:
    1. The visual studio 2013 takes very long to start.
    2. The sharepoint performance could be better.
I'm using the A4 standard tier machine size (8 cores 14gb ram).
I know connecting more than one disks helps (500 iops per disk, right?), but that didn't improved the issues above too much.
    Any tunning tips? Configuration advices?

    Thanks in advance!

I recommend that you stop the search from doing continous crawls, and to stop any services that you do not plan to use

Stopping the Distributed cache service gave me great performance
