Report Viewer expand collapse functionality missing on production server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm comparatively new to report-viewer control and SQL reporting services. We've developed a report with matrix control and integrated the RDLC file on the asp.net web page . It works perfect when published on the local development server with the expand and collapse functionality but when we published the web app to the production server, the expand and collapse functionality disappeared . In the images below you can see the column headers have the (+) sign but in the second screen-shot off the production server, there is no expand/collapse image at all.

The report viewer control on development server and the production server is of version 9.0
SQL Reporting services is installed on the server - SQL Server 2008
    Windows Server 2008
The reports are in local mode processing

    Development Server
Reportviewer development server with collapse option on column headers

    Production Server -
Reportviewer production server without collapse option on column headers

You're help would be highly appreciated

  • Hi Hadi,

    Thanks for your post.

Please use IE on the same machine to visit both servers. Checks if it is caused by IE setting problem.

  • Hi Hongye,

Thanks for you're response. Both the screenshots are from Mozilla Firefox 3.5 I've used the same browser on both the servers and it shows without the expand images only on the production server. Have tested it with IE as well and IE also shows expand/collapse images on development server but not on production server.

  • Hi Hadi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I am not sure what happens. You can use the fiddler tool to check the different http responses returned by two servers.

By the fiddler tool, we should check:
    1. Is there any script or css file missing from production server
    2. Is any difference between the html files
