  • Question

  • Is Power BI going to be part of my MSDN Ultimate subscription? If not, that's a nice big WTF?

  • Thanks for your suggestion to add Power BI to MSDN Subscriptions Andrew.  I'll make sure the team here is aware of your suggestion and they will investigate.

The Power BI team is actually responsible for where their product is available so this is a conversation we'll have to have with their team and we cannot announce any plans for its inclusion in MSDN unless they have done so first.  So, even if we were planning to bring it to MSDN unfortunately I couldn't share that information here.

Thanks for sending this suggestion in!

  • Is there any news on this? My PowerBi trial subscription is about the expire. I need to have a demo site for showing all the good stuff to my customers.

    Thanks, Edgar Walther

  • No news unfortunately.  We've asked the team here.  Ultimately the PowerBI team controls where their product is available, so asking them directly as well is a good idea.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • how does one go about "asking them [the PowerBI team] directly" ?

I just find it ridiculous, given the way structure of their sales organization, that they wouldn't provide access to PowerBI to partners/MSDN subscribers...

  • Hey Bill,

I'm not 100% sure, but I think tweeting to @office and perhaps commenting on these blogs might help raise awareness:

I've asked for an update from our team and if I get something I can share I'll let you know.  Your interest is noted!

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • No news, but when we have some it'll be announced more broadly first and then we'll link back to it.  We are very aware of this desire to include powerbi in MSDN and thanks for keeping our attention on it!

    Thanks!
